We filled 9 shoeboxes full of lovely goodies.
I know they will put a big smile on the children's faces when they open them on christmas morning.

Hi Well Lane - I'm in year 9 now and it's closer to my GCSE's eeep. My science ones started last week so I have 3 teachers. I think primary school was easier and a bit slower than high school !! Hope everyone is being good!!

Today year 5/6db and 5/6jb had Tranmere Rovers visitors in the hall. There were Andy Haywood & Denis (TRFC Ed.Officers) and a professional player called Michael Ricketts. Some pupils who go to the afterschool club got his autograph and everyone got a picture with him. We also got a poster of Tranmere players
to hang up in our room.

We all had a chance to ask a questions. I asked if 10 years ago he would expect to be were he is today - he said no but he followed his dream and got there in the end.

Did you know he started playing footie at the age of 7.

Hi - it's Comic Relief today and all the school dressed up. I went in my PJs it was so funny - people looked like total clowns - every one donated 50p to help the poor.

Hi, its been 3 years since I left Well Lane - missing you all wish I never left.

Just to say what a lovely little site, proving Well Lane is still trying hard to progress. I was a pupil from Sept 1959 till July 1966. Mr Mitchell was the head and
he was just superb. He taught us all local history (thetis0, how to appreciate classical music (planet suite was his favourite) and I had 3 years of basic french. Having passed my 11 plus my family moved and I went to Wirral Grammer school. My interest was science and I have had a fantastic career in the local hospital as a senior biomedical scientist studying haematology and coagulation. It is the foundation I acquired at Well Lane that got me where I am today. A big thank you to all.

I went to school in 1964 to 1969, Mrs Evans was the head of the infants, Mr Mitchell was the head of the primary school with Mr Wilson, his deputy.

Thank you for all of the kind gifts, cards and comments. My last day as Headteacher of Well Lane was one that I will always remember. The assembly was great.
Thanks to Year 6 for their readings and good luck sign. Thankyou to Mrs Saunders for organising everything. I have just been reading all of the comments in the
scrap books that were given to me and how neatly the messages were written! Thank you also to the parents and Governors for their presents - it was
great that so many people came to the assembly. I have named the teddy "Wellie" - he has already made friends with my little boy's toys! I will certainly miss

Hiya everyone. I went to this school 4 years ago (2004) I was in year 6 so I was only there for a year but it was the best ever. I rember all my mates from there but sadly I have lost contact with them all. Yr5 have a good time in year 6 - all the maths is easy - non of the stuff is hard in the SATs but it was so frustrating and I didn't want to do them. I felt like ripping the sheet up but I got it done - have a great time expecially Mrs Diver and Mrs Balshaw

Hi Well Lane - I am having such a good time at plezzo!!! Yr 7 hasn't half flew by but high school can't beat primary school in a million years!! Oaklands was amazing! I wish I could go a 3rd year but I can't. Gorge walking was the best but I had bruises all over me afterwards. Canoeing and rock climbing
was fun as well I will never forget it.

We went to The Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool this week. It was massive. The concert was amazing. We listened to the musicians and sang a song
called 'Music on the Menu'.

We really like our new dance lessons because we really like hip hop.

On Monday afternoon a teacher from Rock Ferry comes to teach us dance. It is fantastic and cool!

Today I found out I am going to Prenton and I got 198 out 236 on my 11+ which wasnt enough!

I was at Well Lane between 1980-1985, which makes me feel very old! There were no computers in the school in those days, let alone an internet website!
I have many good memories. If I remember correctly the Head in them days was a Mr Wilks and I remember teachers such as Mrs Murray, Mrs Garrett and Mrs Gilbert.

I see they still have a trip to Oaklands every year. I went there in 1984. I also remember going the the Isle of Man on a school trip at Well Lane.
It was the equivalent of going to Disneyland to us back then! Happy days!

I have just got back from a couple of days in sunny Cardiff where I went to see Pink in concert courtesy of Well Lane Primary School. The ticket was a goodbye present from the staff and was a fantastic surprise made twice as exciting by the fact that Super Sonic Swanick, Gorgeous Mrs Gardner and Lovely Miss Kelly and Miss Hanlon bought me a matching ticket. I got very close to the front, about twelve rows away from the stage! It was a fantastic night, Pink sang all my favourites especially "Leave me alone I'm lonely" and "Get the Party Started" and "Dear Mr President!!". I sent Mrs Swanick a photo to show her how close I was. So thank you all for a very imaginative and highly appreciated leaving present. May I also thank all of the children (and their parents!) in F1 and F2 who bought me some beautiful presents and made me cry with the beautiful comments in their cards. I will miss every single one of you and think about you all the time. You truly are the Best In Birkenhead, enjoy your new classes and work hard and be happy.

We are in ICT club and we thought we'd say hello. We're doing the Romans and on Wednesday were going to see Roman things in Chester.

Good Afternoon,

I thought I would drop a line to say a BIG THANK YOU to Chris, your caretaker, who was so kind to me and my friend on Friday when we called at the school to have a look around. I was a pupil at the school when I lived in Rock Ferry between the ages of 4 and 9. Being as I am about to get married, my best friend decided that she would take me on a day out around Birkenhead and Rock Ferry to see my old house, school etc... and we were very disappointed when we realised that it was half term and that the school was closed. We took a look around the outside of the school, where we bumped into Chris, who kindly invited us in and showed us around. He made such an effort for us, and showed us some old photographs and I just wanted to thank him, as he made our day really memorable. The school has changed a lot since I was a pupil, but it looks lovely, and still smells the same as it did back in my day - I have got some very fond memories of time at Well Lane, and judging by what we saw last week, I am sure that your present pupils will make their own happy memories for themselves!

We came back from Oaklands yesterday - it was great. We went canoeing, rock climbing and gorge walking. I liked dormitory inspections and the breakfast, tea and challenges. Our science booster lesson was great.

I can't wait till we go to Oaklands I am really lucky to be going again but I don't like the idea of sats before Oaklands it is a really bad idea. Speak to all soon cheerio!!!

We have had science booster lessons with Miss Smethhurst we really enjoy working with her.

The 2 weeks off where cool because we spent time with our Friends and Family. We played lots of football and sometimes we stayed out at our friends. We still play football with Joe on Wednesdays and we still read with Ms. Dunbavin on Mondays.

Comic Relief Chocolate Shop :

Just before the half term holiday the children in the Years 3 and 4 classes designed and made chocolates and then opened a shop for the afternoon. This was part of their work on the topic of 'chocolate'. The shop was visited by many children, staff and parents and managed to raise in the region of £80 for Comic Relief. The children enjoyed the preparation for this event and learned a lot about the importance of working together to advertise, manufacture and sell their chocolates. They did a great job!

We aren't having a particular event on Comic Relief Day but if you want to donate any money I will add it to that already collected - Gaz

World book day was really fun and I liked judging the competion with the other school councillors and I can't wait to go to see the philharmonic orchestra also newspaper club is the best! On Wednesday the urban voice people came to see year 5 and they were very good.

I go to the French and Newspaper clubs - they are both fun.

On Thursdays Mrs Dunn does a newspaper club and I think it is fantastic .

I recently called in to see Mr Davies and I hardly recognised the place. It is much improved. It would have been lovely to have all the doors and carpets you have now when I was there.

We do take pupils from local secondary schools for work experience but we have no spaces for the rest of this school year. There may be spaces at some time from September onwards. Your school should be able to advise you on how to proceed.

Oh my goodness! been so long since I have been to Well Lane. I was in Prenton but I err..kinda got kicked out for having my nose peirced...but anyway, my new school rocks! Its Wallasey High school and its over 400 years old! Its amazing, I got a lot of new friends as well as James Wilson Hill who also goes there. But I miss all my friends from Prenton and from Well Lane loads and loads!

Hello how is everyone ? - I am having a blast in Prenton. My fav subject is art its so cool - you get to put plants in the playground and the rooms are masive. My form teacher Mrs Watson is my fav teacher as well as Miss Jakson!

One of my memories when my class and I went to Oaklands Outdoor Pursuits Centre for the weekend, from Friday 1st July to Sunday 3rd July 2005. On the last day of the trip we went rock climbing and on the way back to the bus I fell off a ledge of rock at the bottom of the mountain, that was about 1 foot high and bruised my ankle. Simon our instuctor came and said that it would be ok after a while and he was right.

Oaklands is fun - away in the mountains of North Wales. We did activities like gorge walking, canoeing & climbing - they were my best memories of the trip.

Oaklands was very good and a fun school trip - we both enjoyed the gorge walking the most because it was really exciting and new to us all.

I think the site was cool - I think it has funny memories and the best pictures
and I think the best thing about Well Lane is the teachers.

On the first July we went to Oaklands I really really enjoyed it - we did lots of fun things but the bad part was making our beds and getting ready for room inspection. The breakfast was brill we had a full english and cereal. When we had our dinner we had to get everthing our selves including our dinner.....
