Home School Link Support Assistant
I should like to introduce myself. My name is Mrs Hughes and I am the Home School Link Support Assistant at Well Lane Primary School. If you have any concerns regarding your child's behaviour, attendance, health or well being, then please contact me at school between 9.00am and noon and I will be able to either help you myself or pass your concerns on to the appropriate person. My job in school is to ensure your child attends school regularly and punctually, to help resolve any problems and to act as a first point of contact for parents or carers for late comers.
There are lots of people at Well Lane Primary School and they are all concerned that in partnership with you, YOUR CHILD receives the best education.
Some of the people at your child's school are:
Headteacher : Mr M Melin
Deputy Head : Mrs Saunders
Foundation Stage 2 & IT co-ordinator: Mrs D Balshaw
Foundation Stage 1 co-ordinator: Miss Warwick
SENCO: Miss McNamee
Home School Link Support Assistant: Mrs D Hughes
Secretary: Mrs S Foley
School Nurse: Mrs Hayes
Education Social Worker: Mr E Jones
If your child is ill.
A parent or carer is required to telephone school on 645 - 9844 as soon as possible,
Preferably before 9.00am on the first day of absence, to let the school office know why your child is absent. When your child returns to school, you need to bring a note to explain why child was absent from school.
If your child feels unwell or has an accident in school they must tell a teacher immediately, normally they will be taken to the School Office where a trained First Aider will take care of them, if they are too ill or distressed to remain in school then you will be contacted to arrange to take your child home.
Under no circumstances should your child leave school premises.
Late
If your child is late for school (school opens at 8.55am and your child should be in his / her classroom by 9.00am) if you arrive after this time you must go to the office to sign your child in late. You should explain why your child was late for school.
Appointments.
It is best to make medical appointments outside of the school day, if your child must leave school during the day then bring a note for the class teacher and sign out at the school office, if you return your child you must sign in again at the school office.
If we have not received a reason for your child's absence, I will contact you at home or at work to ascertain the reason. This is part of my job, to ensure that all children receive the best education possible
If you need help or support with any issues about school then please talk to the Home School Link Support Assistant. She can help or ask a more appropriate person to help you.
Please note that children are expected to attend school when it is their birthday and it is not acceptable to take time off school to go shopping or visiting friends and relations. Children must have a justifiable reason for being absent from school.
Parents are requested not to arrange holidays during term time, where this is unavoidable, requests for leave of absence should be made in writing well in advance of the proposed date, the appropriate form is available from the school office.
For your child's health and well being it is vital that we have up to date contact telephone numbers.
Please remember to let the school of any changes in contact details.
